Wink Ultimate is a mod version of the interactive online service of the Russian provider Rostelecom, with which you can watch movies, series, various TV channels, broadcast sports events, and listen to audio books. What is Wink Ultimate?
Wink Ultimate is an online platform for watching TV shows, movies and series in normal or high HD/4K quality. It is presented as an application that is available to all customers using the services of Rostelecom.Initially, Wink Ultimate was developed exclusively for Android TV, but now it is also available on mobile devices. After completing a simple registration, you can start using the service on any device.
Up to five devices can be connected to one account for free (if they support this service).

Possible reasons for Wink Ultimate crashing
The Wink Ultimate platform, although it has already gained enviable popularity, has launched and operates relatively recently. Therefore, users still quite often encounter problems when working with the program. Usually, the temporary unavailability and departure of the service is due to the fact that it is under moderation – the developers improve the program and remove lags.
Troubleshooting
If Wink Ultimate does not work on your Smart TV or mobile device, make sure that the option is properly connected before proceeding with the setup. To do this, check if you have done the following:
- Passed the registration procedure.
- Entered a promotional code that the provider should send to your phone after successful registration.
If these two points are completed, and the program still does not start and the device displays a black screen, you must do one of the following:
- restart TV receiver/phone;
- reinstall the application;
- change the wireless network to which the TV receiver is connected;
- change the DNS server address;
- reset Smart Hub settings;
- reset the TV itself.
Attention! The service works only on the territory of the Russian Federation. It cannot be used from any other country.
The solution to the problem must begin with the first option. And then proceed incrementally – if the first did not work, go to the second, etc. The last two methods are performed as a last resort. Most of the presented methods for solving the error relate to the operation of TVs, since it is with them that problems often occur. On the phone, 80% of the “crashes” of the application are solved by the first two methods. If not, most likely, the service is simply not suitable for your mobile device.
Device reboot
The application may crash due to a normal temporary failure (i.e., the error is a one-time error and does not require serious remedial action). If the platform stops working all of a sudden, try simply restarting the device you’re using Wink Ultimate on. On the phone, just hold down the power button and select “Restart”. To restart the TV receiver, you need to disconnect it from the mains for a few minutes (3-5), and then reconnect it to the power source. Then turn on the TV, and restart the Wink Ultimate application. If you are using the service through a computer, then try clearing your browser and logging in to your account again.
Reinstalling Wink Ultimate
If the reboot does not help, try uninstalling the Wink Ultimate app from your device and reinstalling it. On the phone, it is enough to perform a standard removal and re-download the service. For TB, the app reinstall method will only work on Samsung LS, Q, N, M, J, and K series smart TVs (manufactured from 2015 to 2018). To obtain information about the model and release date of your TV receiver, use one of the following methods:
- look at the factory label (sticker) located on the back of the device;
- find the “Support” section in the TV menu, and then select the “Contact Samsung” item, here, in the “Model Code” column, information about the production year and model of the device is displayed.
If the method is suitable for your TB, then in order to reinstall the application, you need to do the following:
- Go to the “APPS” section on the main screen and press the center button on the remote control.
- In the list of programs that appears, select the Wink Ultimate service, and then press and hold the main button (or the “Tools” key) until additional settings appear on the screen.
- Select “Reinstall” from the menu that opens.
If everything is done correctly, reinstalling the application will not be difficult. After the re-installation is finished, start the service as usual.
Network change
One of the reasons why the Wink Ultimate application may not work is that your ISP has blocked your IP address that the service is accessing. This can happen to anyone, don’t worry.
To restore the Wink Ultimate service and determine if this is the cause of the error, try changing the type of network connection.
The best way to solve this problem is to create a hotspot on the device and connect to it. For example, if you usually use an unlimited cable connection, switch to mobile internet, and vice versa. If, after performing such operations, the platform worked normally, then the problem is with the provider and you need to address this issue to him – contact him by phone, which is registered in your contract.
Change DNS settings
Sometimes, to solve problems with access to various Internet portals and services, it is enough to change the DNS settings. Therefore, if no problems were identified with the provider, it is necessary to check this server. The easiest way to change DNS server settings is:
- Open the “Settings” section in the TV receiver menu.
- Go to “General”, then select “Network” and in it “Network Status” (in the column on the right).
- Make sure the internet is connected to the device.
- Select “IP Settings”/”DNS Settings”.
- Select manual setting in the “DNS settings” column.
- In the “DNS Server” column, write down the following parameters – 8.8.8.8 or 208.67.222.222 (depending on the TB model). Determining which code you need is easy, you just need to compare the number of digits of the combinations presented and those that can be entered in the column.
- Click “Done” and return back to the menu.
- Save the changed settings.
- Make sure your device is still connected to the internet and then restart it.
On the TP-Link model, if you are using a Wi-Fi router connection, you can change the DNS settings as follows:
- Log in using the address: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. The address must be entered in the address bar of the browser. Next, in both cases, enter the username and password “admin”.
- Select the DHCP item, and then its settings (the first sub-item).
- Enter the addresses 77.88.8.8 and 77.88.8.1 respectively (these are the addresses of Yandex servers) in the fields “Preferred DNS server” and “Alternative DNS server”.
- Save the changed settings with the appropriate button.
- Restart your device and try opening the Wink Ultimate app again.
You also need to make sure that your device is running the required versions of Android (see the table at the beginning of the article for requirements). You can find this information in the sections “About the device” or “About phone”.
Reset Smart Hub
Resetting the settings will remove all previously installed programs, and, accordingly, all errors that occurred in their work. As well as a complete reset of the Smart Hub settings. Before resetting Smart Hub, make sure that your TV is certified in the Russian Federation. To do this, look at the information indicated on the manufacturer’s label. Certified TV model codes end with XRU and have the EAC logo.
If the TV is not certified in Russia, it may be completely blocked after resetting the Smart Hub – it’s better not to risk it.
The algorithm of action for resetting Smart Hub parameters is as follows:
- Go to the “Settings” menu and select the “Support” section there.
- Go to the “Self-diagnosis” section and click “Reset Smart Hub” in it (the penultimate item in the right column).
- Specify the PIN code of the TV receiver. If you did not change it yourself, then it remains by default – 0000. If there was a change, enter your installed code.
- Wait for the reset to finish and then return to the main menu.
- Go to the “APPS” section. A new window will appear in it. Activate the initial settings by agreeing to the terms of use.
- Re-authorize on the device in your account.
- Find Wink Ultimate in the app store and reinstall the service.
If such measures did not help, the most radical way remains – a complete reset of the settings of the TV itself.
Reset TV settings
You should proceed with a complete reset of the parameters only when no other method has worked, since this method will reset absolutely all TV settings and return them to the factory version. To reset the TV receiver, do the following:
- Go to the settings menu and select the “Support” section in it.
- Go to the “Self-diagnosis” section and select the “Reset” sub-item (the last one in the right column).
- Click “Yes” in the window that appears and wait for the complete reset.
- Returning to the main menu, agree to the terms of use in the “APPS” section and log in to your account.
- Re-download the Wink Ultimate app to your TB device.
